Michigan Reconnect and Michigan Learning & Education Advancement Program Help New US Citizen Expand Her Career Options

Siti was born in Indonesia and has since moved to the United States and become a US Citizen. She has had a cultural barrier, as well as a language barrier to overcome, and has done so very well.

Siti was looking to take the Fast-Track Certified Electronics Health Records Course offered at North Central Michigan College, not only to enriching herself and her career in the privacy of the banking world, but also to help out her neighbor. Siti’s neighbor is overwhelmed by the medical jargon used at his doctor’s appointments for his illness, so she goes with him and helps interpret what is going on for him in layman terms. The course will also of course, be a big help in her employment as a Banker, as she’ll have a better understanding of the terminology regarding privacy and laws associated with health records, so she can better assist her clients.

Thanks to funding from the Michigan Reconnect Program and the Michigan Learning and Education Advancement program, Siti was able to get all of her tuition for the course covered. She has received her Certification in the Fast Track Certified Electronics Health Records Specialist Course and is going on to complete her internship in the NHA. Her work ethics are impeccable – she may be on to a new career! Siti continues to overcome challenges in her life and learns some gleaning of truth from each trail that comes her way, she is a strong woman and quite fiercely independence.
