Michigan Works! Barrier Removal Program Helps Working Mom Commute Safely

Bethany is a waitress at a local pizza restaurant and money is tight. When her car needed repairs so that she could get to work safely, as well as transport her kids to their doctor’s appointments at DeVos, she came to Michigan Works! for help. Thanks to the BRES (Barrier Removal Employment Success) program, Michigan Works! was able to help Bethany with the required repairs and brakes. Now Bethany can continue her commute safely and transport her kids to their doctor appointments and school. Bethany is very thankful for the assistance she received and states she hopes to keep up with minor repairs in the future.
