Michigan Works! Helps Struggling Student with Gas & Tuition Assistance

Penny was struggling to make ends meet while attending Kirtland Community College to get her ADN – RN degree. The mileage back and forth, a 70 mile roundtrip, was costing way more than she had. She really didn’t want to drop out of school, so she reached out to Michigan Works! in Grayling to see if they could offer assistance.

Michigan Works! Career Advisor Jackie Gransden was able to offer Penny not only tuition assistance and mileage reimbursement to/from school, but also able to help her with a new iPad for her schoolwork.

Thankful for the assistance she received, Penny reminds others, “Ask for help – it’s out there!”
