Michigan Works! Helps Young Man Obtain CDL Certification to Increase Employability

Ethan is a recent Atlanta Community School graduate, looking to increase his employability by completing a CDL-A. Ethan came to Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium seeking assistance to pay for CDL training, as he couldn’t afford the cost of the training on his own. Working with Michigan Works! Youth Career Advisor Allison Oakes was able to offer assistance thanks to WIOA Youth funding, as well as enroll Ethan in Jobs for Michigan Graduates. With his training assistance secured, Ethan enrolled in the CDL-A training course with Road Warrior Truck Driving School, Inc. In August 2024, Ethan completed his training, securing his CDL-A license! Ethan is currently employed with a local golf resort, while he explores opportunities in truck driving.
