Michigan Works! Presents “Apprenticeship 101” to Students During National Apprenticeship Week

Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium celebrated National Apprenticeship Week by offering Apprenticeship 101 presentations at Hillman and Grayling High Schools.

Apprenticeship Success Coordinator Jeremiah Johnston presented “Apprenticeship 101” to 33 Hillman High School students on November 19 and 62 Grayling High School students on November 21. The presentation covered how to get into an apprenticeship, what career paths utilize apprenticeship, how you can earn while you learn, how much money can be made in apprenticeships, and much more. Students were surprised to hear how many apprenticeships are available and how many industries they covered, as well as the great money that can be made while in an apprenticeship. Students enjoyed watching the apprenticeship videos and really enjoyed spinning the Wheel of Apprenticeship and answering trivia questions to win candy.
