October 4-5 - Garland Lodge & Golf Resort held a two day employee event on October 4-5, 2022 in preparation for seasonal staff lay offs starting in mid October.
Michigan Works! NE Consortium staff members Alayne Hansen and Jennifer Coughlin were onsite with information on the process for applying for unemployment, and the many services the agency offers including setting up a Pure Michigan Talent Connect account.
Several employees expressed their appreciation for having the opportunity to walk through the unemployment process and learn more about the local Michigan Works! offices and hours from MW staff. One employee even received assistance with scheduling an in-person appointment with the UIA office for a prior unresolved issue.
The information sessions drew 40 employees which pleased Garland’s management team.
